we go places. we pack bags. we carry things with us. we pack what we pack so that people will look at us and notice what we are wearing. like my shoes? they're toms. (i actually am wearing toms today, so i'm not saying that there's anything wrong with that.) i believe quite strongly in what toms shoes does, but still we wear them to be noticed. like my scarf? it's from rue21.
we listen to music loud so that people can hear that yeah, we're listening to ke$ha or katy perry or biebs or my chemical romance or underoath or whoever.
we have the latest technology so people see that we can afford ipods and iphones and macbooks.
we hold up so many names like a banner before the world. but are we holding up the most important one? do we hold out Jesus to the world? do we talk about Jesus like we talk about glee? do we get excited about what Jesus did this week like we get excited about the song rachel and finn sang or the funny thing brittany said?
here's the thing. i don't. i can tell you everything you want to know about harry potter, but i don't speak up like that about Jesus, the one who gives me breath. this. is. a. problem.
i'm not sure of the solution, but it has given me a lot to take home and process.
