day five: 02.10.2012
q: what life lesson did you learn the hard way?
a: sometimes you just have to let people go.

day four: 02.09.2012
q: what gets you excited about life?
a: (this is gonna be a long one)
a: (this is gonna be a long one)
- Jesus - without Him, i'd never make it. i'm learning that His plan for me is big and perfect and that excites me so much.
- journey church - i love being a part of this church. God has totally used this place to completely change my life. i know i'm a little biased, but i truly think it's the best there is.
- refuge - after being gone for 5 months (dumb night classes!) it's so wonderful to be back. we truly do grow best in the context of community and i'm glad i get to be a part of this group and do life with these people.
- uptown - journey's kids ministry is my favorite thing ever. i love hanging out with 4th & 5th graders and getting to tell them about Jesus. the fact that i get to do this with my best friends makes it that much better!
- my future - i'm almost done with school, finally, and while i'm nervous, i'm so excited about where God's going to take me!

day three: 02.08.2012
q: what's the most sensible thing you've ever heard someone say?
a: "i've thought myself out of happiness one million times, but never once into it." - oskar schell

day two: 02.07.2012
q: who do you sometimes compare yourself to?
a: i catch myself comparing myself to almost everyone at different times. it's like, 'he's more organized than me,' or 'she takes better pictures than i do,' or 'he's funnier than i am,' or 'she sings better than me,' all of that. but i've had to realize that God's plans for me are His plans for me, not them. and they're not flawed at all, in fact, i'm exactly who He knew i'd be when He first imagined me. :)

a new idea
so, as most of you know, i just finished a 365 photography project on december 31. i also just turned 25 on monday. i knew i didn't really want to start a new 365 in photography, but i did want to do SOMETHING all year. so i started doing a "365:question of the day" and decided to blog them! i'm gonna do the first four today, then hopefully post one everyday! if you want to, feel free to add your answer to the question in the comments!

what am I carrying?
we go places. we pack bags. we carry things with us. we pack what we pack so that people will look at us and notice what we are wearing. like my shoes? they're toms. (i actually am wearing toms today, so i'm not saying that there's anything wrong with that.) i believe quite strongly in what toms shoes does, but still we wear them to be noticed. like my scarf? it's from rue21.
we listen to music loud so that people can hear that yeah, we're listening to ke$ha or katy perry or biebs or my chemical romance or underoath or whoever.
we have the latest technology so people see that we can afford ipods and iphones and macbooks.
we hold up so many names like a banner before the world. but are we holding up the most important one? do we hold out Jesus to the world? do we talk about Jesus like we talk about glee? do we get excited about what Jesus did this week like we get excited about the song rachel and finn sang or the funny thing brittany said?
here's the thing. i don't. i can tell you everything you want to know about harry potter, but i don't speak up like that about Jesus, the one who gives me breath. this. is. a. problem.
i'm not sure of the solution, but it has given me a lot to take home and process.
